The expert told what clients of Russian banks should do with an expired card

Not all users know what to do if their bank card expires. Some

Kirill Matveev, head of the customer happiness department at Raiffeisenbank, gave hints about this. Discuss

According to the expert, replace a bank cardit is possible even before the expiration date, if the client does not need his current card for some reason. If the validity period has expired, the order of actions remains the same. You need to contact your bank and order a new card. Since these are registered cards, the bank will need some time to issue a new one, after which the "plastic" can be taken from your branch of the credit institution. You can order a new card and activate it after receiving it both at the branch and online - in the mobile application or Internet bank.

But there is a nuance: the account number will not change, while the card details will be changed. And if it was linked in applications, for example, to pay for groceries or a taxi, then this data will need to be updated.

The expert noted that the information on the card will need to be updated in electronic wallets, as well as re-bind in mobile wallets for contactless payment using NFC.

As for the physical security of the old card, it is better to break it or cut it into fragments and dispose of it so that no one can read personal data from it.

You can also issue a virtual card.It is instant and this is its advantage, but it will open for a new account with new details. Otherwise, it can also be linked in applications and to wallets. However, it can also be used at ATMs.

According to Matveev, if a virtual card is tied to a wallet, then you can attach your phone to an ATM, enter a pin code and use it to withdraw or replenish cash.
