New module "Science" for the ISS successfully passed the first tests

The Proton-M launch vehicle with the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module was removed and installed on

launch complex of the Baikonur cosmodrome.

"Science" - multipurpose laboratory moduleof the Russian segment of the International Space Station. It was created by the cooperation of enterprises in order to implement the program of scientific experiments and expand the functionality of the Russian segment of the ISS.

Today, July 19, 2021, specialistsof the rocket and space industry, at the launch site, work is carried out according to the program of the third launch day. In accordance with the schedule, the launch readiness test set and tests of the control systems of the launch vehicle are carried out. In these operations, the measuring points of the cosmodrome are involved.

According to the head of Roscosmos, the launch will be difficult. An additional reserve day was allocated before him.

The launch is scheduled for July 21 at 17:58 Moscow time, and docking on July 29. This will be the first module that Russia will send to the ISS since 2010.
