What to expect
Rockstar is unlikely to release a film based on GTA, but 20th Century Fox decided to make a “spiritual successor”. But it’s not the player who will be playing the main roles.
“The Main Character” (Free Guy in the original) will tellabout an NPC who one day realized that he was living in an online game like GTA Online. Every day he is robbed, a helicopter constantly crashes into a neighbor's house, and dressed up guys and girls create chaos on the streets, and with impunity. One day, Reynolds realizes that all this time he was just a non-player character, but now he has to be the main character and save the world.
Not only Ryan played the leading rolesReynolds, but also Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Jodie Comer (Thirteen), Channing Tatum (Macho Man and Geek), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Lil Rell (Good Boys) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Mulan). In the director's chair is Shawn Levy, who worked on Night at the Museum and Real Steel.
The film "The Protagonist" will be released on July 2, 2020.
