The United States has banned the transport of lithium-ion batteries on passenger aircraft

The reason for the introduction of restrictions were safety requirements, the FAA said. Officials believe

that lithium-ion batteries can ignite during flight — such a situation will threaten both the crew and passengers.

The publication notes that the restriction is notapplies to the transport of personal smartphones, portable batteries and other devices with lithium-ion batteries in hand luggage. We are talking only about the devices in the baggage.

Earlier it was reported that in the next three years, almost80% of airports and 70% of airlines will begin testing passenger face recognition and biometric control systems. Technologies will allow to get rid of queues for passport control and reduce the time of pre-flight inspection.
