Ukrainians in 20 minutes collected ₴1 million for a history textbook for Elon Musk after the scandalous publications of the billionaire on Twitter

On October 3, Elon Musk excited the Ukrainian public with several posts on Twitter regarding

Russian-Ukrainian war. As a result, the Ukrainians opened a fundraiser for a history textbook for an American billionaire.

What is known

Elon Musk has published four points that, according to the businessman, can end the war:

  • new elections in the annexed territories under UN supervision;
  • Crimea remains part of Russia;
  • providing Crimea with water;
  • Ukraine remains neutral (probably, we are talking about not joining NATO).

At the time of writing, 63.2% of 1.6 million users disagreed with the American billionaire. President Zelensky also reacted to Elon Musk's post.

In addition to Zelensky, many famous Ukrainians responded to Musk’s survey. For example, Permanent Representative to the UN Sergei Kislitsa…

… and former President Petro Poroshenko.

Musk later added that the war in Ukraine couldescalate into a nuclear war, although the likelihood of such an outcome is small. The head of Tesla also published a manipulative survey about whether residents of Crimea and Donbass should decide for themselves which country to remain part of. Paul Massaro, senior policy advisor to the US Helsinki Commission, proposed his own version.

In addition, Elon Musk recalled that Russia is mobilizing, emphasizing that three times more people live in the Russian Federation than in Ukraine. But the National Guard of Ukraine reacted to this tweet.

Ukrainian volunteers Sergey Prytula and IgorLachenkov, who raised $20 million for three Bayraktar TB2s in a few days in the summer, decided to open a collection for a history textbook for Elon Musk. In 20 minutes, Ukrainians transferred ₴1 million ($27,000) to Monobank. At the time of writing, more than ₴1.7 million ($46,000) has been raised. Note that almost all funds, with the exception of the cost of the textbook, will go to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
