There are signs that the administration of new US President Joe Biden is about to tighten
Janet Yellen, who shouldto lead the US Treasury Department, highlighted the role of cryptocurrencies in illegal transactions and money laundering. When asked about the financing of terrorism with bitcoins, Yellen said that cryptocurrencies are "of particular concern" and the government should impose new restrictions on how such digital currencies can be used.
Yellen noted that to preventthe use of cryptocurrencies by terrorists, the state needs to modernize the method of working with these assets. Especially in terms of control over cryptocurrency transactions.
