Who will replace Xiaomi and Realme if they are arrogant? There is already an alternative, but with nuances...

Infinix is another new brand trying to stand alongside Xiaomi and Realme. And before

Remember that Xiaomi and Realme once also struggled to make their way into the market, releasing strange and inexpensive smartphones, which, however, stood out favorably against the background of all sorts of Doogee and Oukitel. Will Infinix be able to replicate these "success stories"?7.5 / 10FerraInfinix Hot 11S rating

Appearance

“A smartphone is like a smartphone” is what we can sayabout the appearance of the Infinix Hot 11S, as well as about almost any model from any manufacturer for that kind of money. The front side is no different from thousands of others.

Infinix Hot 11S

On the back - an interesting texture, by the way, absolutely smooth to the touch. But this is definitely not glass, but plastic.

Infinix Hot 11S

The Infinix Hot 11S has a fingerprint reader built into the power / lock button on the right. For an inexpensive smartphone, this is a perfectly adequate solution.

Bottom - USB-C and 3.5mm (radio supported).

On the left is a slot for two nano-SIM and microSD. You can put everything at once.

Infinix Hot 11S

In the hand, the smartphone lies confidently, but the feeling that it could be made a little smaller, literally by a few millimeters, does not leave. By the way, the set includes a transparent silicone case.

Screen

In my opinion, the screen is the main disadvantage.smartphone. Moreover, assess the scale of the tragedy - here is an IPS screen, but IPS is my weakness, I love them despite all the shortcomings, and in order for an IPS screen to cause unpleasant emotions in me, I have to try.

Infinix Hot 11S

First of all, purely subjective and what does not measureno colorimeter, the Infinix Hot 11S's screen looks like it's underwater. Difficult to explain, but this effect does not even apply to viewing angles - they are fine here. Perhaps it's all about the blue, which, however, you can already measure with a colorimeter.

So that's it.The white temperature here is outside the measurement range of our editorial colorimeter, which is, for a minute, 9000K. This means that the screen is so “blue” that your eyes start to tire of it almost instantly, if you are at all sensitive to it. There is no white balance setting in the smartphone, and the only thing that can be done here is to turn on the “Eye protection mode”. However, even the minimum value of this mode makes the temperature about 6000K with an ideal value of 6500K.

Now do you understand what 9000K is in a smartphone screen?

Infinix 11Smax Brightness Level (Max/Min) 513/4.69 cd/m2Contrast Ratio (Greater = Better)1200:1Color Gamut(sRGB) (90-100% Ideal)99ÞltaE (Less = Better)8.97Gamma (Ideal 2.2)2.2Color Temperature (Ideal = 6500K)>9000K (6000K in Eye Care Mode)

So, 6000K for "eye protection mode" (or "night mode" - the same one that smartphones often offerturn it on before going to bed so that the abundance of blue in the eyes does not harm sleep) it is quite normal when the usual mode is around 6500K-7500K.Oh well, 8000K can still be tolerated.

Why did the manufacturer do this?Or was it all the same to him? Well, my guess is for the sake of achieving high brightness. Yes, the more blue, the brighter, although this is also such an optical illusion. More precisely, a deception of the colorimeter, because the eye can see that the brightness is not epically high (sufficient, but no more).

Infinix Hot 11S interface, main screen

And the last point is that the screen supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which is not such an advantage in this case.First of all, MediaTek processors, although they provide a fairly smooth interface animation at 60 Hz, still lag at 90 Hz.Secondly, 90 Hz is not that much of a difference compared to 60 Hz.

As for the interface, it is used hereXOS shell on top of Android 11. I really liked the shell itself, it has many interesting functions, but the downside is that by default many branded applications “spam” advertising in notifications. You can disable it, of course, but it would be better if it was disabled by default. This, however, is what all the “Chinese” suffer from. — some more (Xiaomi), some less (Realme).

Performance and autonomy

For its hardware (MediaTek Helio G88), the smartphone shows an adequate level of both performance and autonomy.

Geekbench 5 performance

Miracles of long work, like Realme, are not hereit turned out, but the discharge is very even, almost linear. This means that by seeing the remaining charge as a percentage, you can predict with an accuracy of half an hour when the smartphone will be discharged - in any case, if you do not significantly change the mode of use.

Time of full discharge of smartphones in minutes (reading, video, games)

By the way, the smartphone comes with a fast 18-watt charger, which allows you to charge the smartphone in about 100 minutes.

The smartphone also has an NFC module, as well as everythingmotion sensors (gyroscope, compass/magnetometer/, accelerometer). Let me remind you that often in smartphones in this price category (14-15 thousand rubles) they don’t report one thing or another. For example, the Xiaomi Poco M3 did not have a gyroscope, and the Lenovo K12 Pro did not have a magnetometer.

The only complaint is the data from the gyroscopetransmitted somehow slower than usual. When watching a 360-degree video this is not a problem, but in VR it can start to make you feel nauseous due to the untimely reaction of the picture. But I wouldn’t think about VR at all on such hardware.

It is purely theoretically possible that this is also a sign of gyroscope emulation, but the result in any case is better than that of the Xiaomi Poco M3.

Camera

Despite the three "peepholes" on the rear panel, in reality there is only one camera module in the Infinix Hot 11S - a 50-megapixel wide one.

Infinix Hot 11S

The main advantage of shooting with this smartphone isquite natural colors, especially when compared with Realme (however, the closest competitor, Realme C25S, as luck would have it, is good with color reproduction). However, there is also a big drawback - a very narrow dynamic range. Shooting against the Sun on the Infinix Hot 11S is contraindicated. And diffused lighting (like on a cloudy day) is the perfect companion.

At night, getting a clear picture on the camera is almostimpossible, although here the colors are more or less in order, and even noise is within reason. A special night mode saves the situation, and here Realme C25S looks worse - there night pictures were bright, but very blurry.

Main camera Infinix Hot 11S, night mode

For selfies, everything is the same, but here Realme is already better (including Realme C25S).

As for the video ... Quite an interesting story -the smartphone supports shooting not only in Full-HD and 30 fps, but also in 1440p 30 fps. This is the first time I've seen this. But due to the lack of at least some kind of stabilization and / or shooting at 60 fps, it is strictly not recommended to shoot on the go. Unless, put your smartphone on a tripod.

At night, the situation is aggravated by an attempt to use a smartphoneincrease the shutter speed so that at least something can be seen in the frame. But when shooting at 30 frames per second, the shutter speed should in no case be longer than 1/30, otherwise it turns out ... What we get:

Realme C25S

Realme C25S

One of the main problems of Infinix Hot 11S isoutdated network modules. If Bluetooth 5.0 is still a thing of the past, then Wi-Fi n is already an antiquity. So, if you look at it in general, the Realme C25S, which costs only a thousand rubles more for the 4/64 byte configuration, is a much more modern smartphone. True, it only has an HD screen and 60 Hz. This isn't very noticeable (especially the second one, considering how poorly Infinix's 90Hz works), but it's worth keeping in mind.

Xiaomi Redmi 10

Xiaomi Redmi 10

The new product from Xiaomi also has fresh versionsnetwork interfaces, and an FHD screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and also, by the way, IPS. Unfortunately, I haven’t tested this smartphone, and therefore I can’t say anything about the quality of the camera, but Redmi 10, in addition to the standard 50 MP wide-angle module, also has an ultra-wide-angle one. The processor is exactly the same as that of the Infinix Hot 11S, and the dimensions and weight are smaller.

Total

In fact, Infinix Hot 11S is quitenice smartphone, I especially liked the functional shell (if only there weren’t intrusive semi-advertising notifications) and smooth discharge. For example, from the same Xiaomi you can’t expect an even discharge - even if you use your smartphone absolutely the same throughout the entire discharge cycle, it can actually “sit down” suddenly.

The main problem of the smartphone, in my opinion,"Cyanotic" screen, from which the eyes will quickly get tired, and that is officially solved only by the "eye protection mode", which in this case is just another extreme. However, this can be solved by installing a program that corrects the white balance.

The camera is also not so great even for this price. For 16 thousand you can get the Realme C25S, which takes better pictures, and in general is better in many respects, except for screen resolution.

Overall, the Infinix Hot 11S is simply perceived as an alternative for Realme and Xiaomi. However, for a company about which the Russian user knew nothing yesterday, this is already an achievement.
