The Guinness Book of Records has been updated with a new achievement by a gamer. Rocky Stoutenburg installed
What is known
Stoutenburg was interested in hockey and motorsportsand video games, but after an accident the guy was paralyzed from neck to toe. Most of his hobbies had to be abandoned, but games remained in Rocky’s life when his brother gave him a joystick to control the character’s actions using his mouth.
"This is a controller with a side tube, threecenter tubes, an analog stick and a lip switch on the bottom, and [to play] you simply sip or puff the 4 holes, move the analog stick, or press the lip switch,” Stoutenburg explained.
At first, Rocky couldn’t get used to thismanagement, but did not stop practicing. Eventually, the guy got the hang of it and switched from single-player games to competitive ones, playing “battle royales” like PUBG and Fortnite.
In the latter, Rocky achieved great success.As of March 2019, he has won 509 matches and earned 11 kills in a single match. Thanks to his achievements, Stoutenburg set a new record, being included in the Guinness World Records 2020 and Guinness World Records 2020 Gamer's Edition lists.
Moreover, Rocky earned his victories not in splendid isolation, but with viewers on Twitch.
“Being a part of Twitch is a lot of fun.You have many friends... you never have to play alone - you always have someone to play with or talk to. Twitch is a really good community to be involved in,” Rocky said.
