Bethesda will launch Doom 64 on PC and PS4, after 22 years of exclusivity for Nintendo 64

Bethesda has released the first three parts of Doom on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, and it looks like it will soon introduce gamers to more

one classic part of the series.

What is known

Doom 64, which came out on Nintendo 64 in the far1997, and remained an exclusive "big N". The game was a direct sequel to Doom 2, so part of the gamers never got acquainted with the full history of the game’s universe. Yet soon this misunderstanding will be fixed by Bethesda itself.

Gematsu journalists noticed that Doom 64 appeared in the database of the PEGI rating commission, which assigns age limits to games.


“The demons are back, becoming stronger and fiercer than before. As the only experienced survivor of the Doom episode, your mission resumes, ”the description says.

The description says that the game will be released onPlayStation 4 and PC, but this does not mean that gamers from the rest of the platforms will be left without Doom 64. Gematsu notes that the same platforms indicated for DOOM and DOOM 2, but as a result, the games were visited by both the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. There are no release dates, but judging by other games, after registering with PEGI, the announcement and the subsequent release do not have to wait long.

Doom 64 did not go beyond the limits of Nintendo 64, but squeezed all the juices from the console of the “big N”, working at a resolution of 320 × 240 and, unlike other versions, it was launched at a frequency of 30 frames per second.
