Fairphone has officially announced the modular smartphone Fairphone 3. The device is made from environmentally friendly

materials, is absolutely “ethical” (no child or slave labor and no contributions to weapons), and also has a high degree of repairability.

Not a gadget, but an idea

The manufacturer relied on the fact thatthe user will not have to buy a new smartphone due to a breakdown. All seven Fairphone 3 modules are held together with screws and are easy to replace. Among the suppliers of components there are no companies that use prohibited labor in production or dedicate part of the profits to the development of weapons. The smartphone is made from recycled materials and, compared to more traditional devices, is quite environmentally friendly.

What's inside

For the 450 euro model, Fairphone 3 hasvery weak characteristics. The Gorilla Glass 5 protected display has a diagonal of 5.7 inches and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The hardware basis of the smartphone was a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in flash memory with the ability to install microSD. The resolution of the main camera is 12 MP, while the front camera has one 8 MP sensor. The autonomy of Fairphone 3 is ensured by a 3000 mAh battery. Operating system - Android 9.0 Pie.

Small details include the ability to install two SIM cards, support for fast charging, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, as well as a 4G modem.

Sales throughout Europe will begin on September 3.
