Google disconnected its services from Xiaomi's smart home: Chinese cameras spy on users

Google has disabled the integration of Xiaomi smart home devices with Nest Hub and Assistant.

What happened

Reason

This was prompted by requests from users who unexpectedly gained access to other people’s cameras.

For example, one of the IP camera ownerssecurity Xiaomi Mijia 1080p Smart, trying to transfer the broadcast to Google Nest Hub, saw images and videos from other people's houses. Another user said that he also saw on the screen the porch of someone else’s house, a sleeping person and a child in a playpen.
