Google has removed another popular application due to the trojan

Google has removed the popular CamScanner app from its Google Play store. It has been available for download since 2010

years and more recently began to distribute malware on Android devices.

What kind of virus

According to Kaspersky, the malicious codeCamScanner clogged the smartphone with advertisements and signed users up for paid subscriptions. In addition, the Trojan could load additional software without the owner’s knowledge.

CamScanner was used for scanningPDF documents. Before being removed from the Google Play store, the app had over 100 million downloads and 1.8 million positive reviews. Kaspersky added that in the latest updates, the developers removed the virus from the program.

The incident once again reminds us that even proven and old applications still remain vulnerable to hacker attacks.
