Honor smartphones will no longer be in DxOMark ranking

Yesterday, the Huawei Honor sub-brand introduced the new flagship smartphone line Honor V30. After that, the head of the company

Zhao Ming talked to reporters and said that the Honor V-series smartphones will no longer participate in DxOMark ratings.

Why?

The fact is that Honor representatives are unhappyevaluation criteria for DxOMark specialists. According to the head of the brand, many of the indicators are based solely on the hardware capabilities of the devices. But laboratory innovations are turning a blind eye.

Simply put, the better the hardware in the camera, the higher the smartphone in the DxOMark rating.

But smartphones Honor V30 in such a framework is notfit in. Recall that new items equipped with a triple main camera, which was called the Matrix Camera. The main Sony IMX600 40MP sensor with Dual OIS and laser autofocus, like the Huawei P30 Pro. However, in the case of the Honor V30, the aperture of the module is f / 1.8, while that of the Honor V30 Pro is f / 1.6. The second wide-angle lens is also different. In the younger model it is 8 megapixels with f / 2.4, and in the older one it is already 12 megapixels and f / 2.2. The third module is the same: an 8 megapixel telephoto lens with triple optical zoom and OIS.

Of course, one can argue with the statement of Zhao Ming, but his words are still not meaningless. Moreover, many have long had questions about the objectivity of DxOMark.
