Jonathan Ive will quit Apple chief designer

Apple's chief designer Jonathan Ive will leave the company for his own studio. He worked for the company for more than

20 years.

What's next

Jonathan Ive led the design development forthe first Mac and iPhone, and also removed skeuomorphism (using the style of real objects to create virtual ones) in iOS 7. According to the Financial Times, the company does not yet have a candidate to replace it. The entire design team will now report to Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams.

Jonathan himself will now start his own design studio called LoveFrom, which will launch in 2020. Oddly enough, his company's first client will be Apple.
