Details about the second season of The Witcher from Netflix: more meaning, action and characters

Without even waiting for the first reviews of The Witcher, Netflix renewed the series for a second season. Now the showrunner

adaptation Lauren Hissrich shared the first details about the continuation and told what will change first.

What is known

In an interview with GamesRadar, the screenwriter said:that a more focused story awaits viewers in the second season. The relationships that were built in the first season will “start to bear fruit,” making the narrative more dynamic.

"I can tell you that history is becomingmore focused. There will be more suspense in the story as all the relationships we established in season one start to come to fruition in season two,” Hissrich said.

In addition, the characters will be shown together more often. In the first season, Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer acted separately most of the time, but in the sequel they will begin to meet and interact with each other more often.

"The characters begin to meet more andto interact. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not so good. All those building blocks that we've created for the world will finally start to come together into something more concrete,” says the showrunner.

The screenwriter also confirmed that she is preparing the story for seven seasons. Moreover, the writer has already described what will happen and when.

“We know exactly what we want to do.As writers, we say in our heads, “Oh, this could happen at the end of season three,” or “This will happen in season seven.” The truth is that we have a ton of raw material. We could write the show for a long, long time,” Hissrich concluded.

Lauren also shared her opinion about the firstreviews from critics. The screenwriter even spurred Entertainment Weekly reporters, who gave the show zero points, watching only three episodes. Showrunner noted that fan reviews were more important to her.

“Many people asked me nicely if I was upsetwhether I reviewed The Witcher. Who do you think I should listen to: the “professional” critics who watched one episode and skipped the rest, or the real fans who watched all eight episodes in one day and have already started rewatching them? I’m so fucking HAPPY!” Hissrich wrote.
