Segway S-Pod: futuristic egg-driven throne on wheels

On the eve of CES 2020, which will be held from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, the American manufacturer

of hoverboards, Segway introduced a chair on S-Pod wheels.

What it is

Representatives of Segway say that the creation of this wonderful transport was inspired by the film “Jurassic World”. Or more precisely, those transparent balls on which the main characters rode past the dinosaurs.

But the Segway S-Pod looks more like an egg-shaped chair. This is an alternative to conventional cars, although only for one person.

Like hoverboards, the chair itself balances on two wheels. But for control there is a joystick on the right side of the seat.

The speed of the chair is up to 40 kilometers per hour, itsupports up to 150 kg. Theoretically, you can drive it to the store, to the park, even out of town. The main thing is that the weather cooperates, because with frost, cold and rain, the trip will definitely be uncomfortable.
