According to the publication, Sony Interactive Entertainmentfiled a patent application with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). The document says that the PS VR2 will receive two cameras on the front panel, as well as one on the back. In addition, the headset will be studded with LEDs, which will also help better track the player’s movements. Like the current PSVR version, the new version will also have a built-in microphone.
In addition, the patent teaches a new pairing method. Gamers will be able to connect a headset not only using wires, but also via Bluetooth. For this, the helmet will be provided with an additional power source.
Sony also plans to upgrade the PlayStation Move controllers. The patent says that the manipulators will also acquire built-in cameras for better tracking of movement.
