German hacker and security researcher Jeffrey Paul talks about how Apple has improved its surveillance
According to the specialist, in the current versionThe macOS system sends a unique identifier - a hash - to Apple's servers for each application that the user launches. Since the connection goes through the Internet, the server has access to the user's IP address and the time the request was received, and the request itself also contains the date, data about the computer, provider, city, state, and the same application hash.
As a result, Apple knows when a person isat home, and when at work, what apps people use and how often. The company knows when a user opens, for example, the Tor browser while traveling to another city. The specialist also claims that the program that sends these requests to the server cannot be blocked by any VPN.
