Current AMD video cards are not fully compatible with modern gaming graphics

Microsoft has published a list of graphics cards that will support all DirectX 12 features. According to this list,

Current AMD models are not fully compatible with modern gaming graphics.

Fully Compatible GeForce Series Graphics CardsRTX, RDNA 2 and Intel HPG. But GeForce GTX and modern AMD models do not support Ultimate features under the new Feature Level 12_2, such as Mesh Shaders and VRS.

Mesh Shaders in particular providedevelopers have more control over how the program interacts with the GPU. Variable Rate Shading (VRS) allows you to split the image on the screen into zones and render them with different degrees of detail. This ensures that system resources are directed to where they are most needed.

Also as part of new features for DirectX 12 underFeature Level 12_2 implements DirectX Raytracing and Sampler Feedback technologies. In general, today only GeForce RTX and Quadro RTX video cards are compatible with DirectX Feature Level 12_2.
