Resident Evil Village producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Pete Fabiano spoke with Japanese Famitsu journalists, revealing more
What is known
Resident Evil Village will be the final chapterin the story of Ethan Winters, the antagonist of RE7. In the seventh part, the end of the game was influenced by the choice of the main character, but Capcom does not indicate which option is canonical, but instead invites gamers to guess for themselves based on the trailer. In addition, the developers advise completing RE7 before starting Village.
The developers hint that Chris Redfield has loststatus as a hero and skilled fighter due to post-traumatic stress disorder. In the trailer, players were shown how Redfield kills Ethan's wife, and the guy goes after the offender to get answers from him.
Resident Evil Village will take place in Europe. The game was not simply called Resident Evil 8, since the town itself is considered by the developers to be a key protagonist.
An important part of the gameplay will bepuzzles, and gamers will have to pay attention to inventory management. The main character's "bag" has a total number of slots, and items occupy a different number of slots.
The game has been in development for 3.5 years, and was being prepared in parallel with the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3. So far, Resident Evil Village is 60% ready.
