The British government announced the allocation of 16million pounds ($20.5 million) to strengthen Ukraine’s cyber defenses. On top of this, there is the potential for a further £9 million from international allies.

This package is in addition to the £6.35 million announced last year. With this money, Ukraine will be able to better protect critical infrastructure from Russian hacker attacks.

“Russian attacks on Ukraine are not limited to theirbarbaric invasion of territory, but also includes despicable attempts to attack their cyber infrastructure that provides vital services, from banking to energy supplies, to Ukrainian civilians. This funding is critical to stopping these attacks, strengthening Ukraine's cyber defenses and improving the country's ability to detect and disable malware that targets them,” said British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
