Former Apple chief designer Jony Ive may take Ferrari CEO chair

Last week, for personal reasons, Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri suddenly

resigned. And there are already candidates for his place, and quite interesting candidates.

Who are the contenders?

Reuters, citing Italian media,writes that two Apple representatives are named as possible candidates for the post of CEO of Ferrari. This is the former chief designer of the Apple company Jony Ive and its financial director Luca Maestri. The former left the company last year and founded his own design firm, LoveFrom. The second has held the position since 2014.

Like Camilleri, who before he headedFerrari, had years of experience in the tobacco and food industries, the new CEO does not necessarily have to be an expert in the automotive industry.

Also named as possible successorsformer head of the Ferrari racing team and former head of Lamborghini Stefano Domenicali and Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao, but this information was not confirmed.

Until a new leader is found, Chairman of the Board John Elkann will serve as chairman.
