Budget gaming computers with AMD + AMD configurations compared to Intel + NVIDIA

Authors of the Overclockers website.ru compared budget gaming computers of AMD+AMD configurations with Intel+NVIDIA. The assemblies were tested in games of various requirements in resolutions of 1920 x 1080 and 2560 x 1440 pixels.

We took two assemblies for testing:Intel Core i3-8350K + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 and AMD Ryzen 5 3500X + Radeon RX 590. They were tested in the following games: Assassin's Creed Origins, Borderlands 3, Gears 5, Grand Theft Auto V, Rage 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Total War: Three Kingdoms, World War Z.

Based solely on performance, then in normal mode the Ryzen 5 3500X + Radeon RX 590 combination was in the lead. The competition caught up with it after overclocking. Overall, the Intel+NVIDIA build was faster than the AMD+AMD build in only two games: Borderlands 3 and Gears 5. Both configurations struggled at the 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution in Borderlands 3 and Total War: Three Kingdoms.

The author of the material also appreciated the assemblies byattractiveness of the purchase. The results can be seen in the table below. In the nominal mode, the Ryzen 5 3500X + Radeon RX 590 bundle was more profitable than the Core i3-8350K + GeForce GTX 1660 bundle. After overclocking, both systems were on the same level.
