Phœnix jailbreak for iOS 9.3.5 released

This month there were rumors about the possibility of a jailbreak for iOS 9.3.5, and they turned out to be true.

Jailbreak was actually in development.

NamedPhœnix (Phoenix)in honor of the mythical bird that is reborn fromash and comes to life again, this jailbreak will definitely revive many of the old devices that were gathering dust on the shelves, and possibly renew interest in the jailbreak community.

This jailbreaksemi-tiedand only fits32-bit devicesWithiOS 9.3.5.It was created by Siguza and tihmstar, famous iOS hackers. They also gave credit to Luca Todesco, Max Bazalia and jk9357 for additional contributions to interface elements.

The jailbreak app resembles the jailbreak HomeDepot for iOS 9.1-9.3.4., Which is quite logical, since these are the only jailbreaks for 32-bit devices in recent years, iOS versions overlap, and the previously mentioned jk9357 worked on them. Of course, the work of jailbreaks is different, and the exploit is completely different. Tihmstar decided that the code would not be publicly available, but details about who worked on what are indicated in his tweet on this subject.

Like other jailbreaks lately, this one is also semi-tethered and requires you to re-download the app after every change. There were hints early in development that the jailbreak would be untethered, but this ultimately did not happen. Unfortunately, Cydia Extender and its derivatives don't work on iOS 9, so you'll have to download the app to your device every week unless you have an Apple developer account. These nuances make jailbreaking not ideal, but it is better than nothing. Thanks to the supporttfp0,jailbreak will allow you to roll back to the earliestfirmware (if you have saved firmware signature files). The Phœnix jailbreak will mainly be used by older model owners as a tool for upgrading to earlier firmware.

The iOS 9.3.5 update is likely to be the last for most 32-bit devices.

We will work with jailbreak and do instructionsfor you if we find something interesting. So far, the creators say that the tool is quite stable, so you can install it yourself. Or wait a bit if in doubt. Jailbreak can be downloaded from the official Phœnix website and downloaded as usual using Cydia Impactor.
