Samsung has released the fastest SSD for home computers - the 980 Pro based on PCIe 4.0. The company offers it in
Reading speed of the top version of the solid stateThe drive reaches 7000 MB/s, and the write speed is 5000 MB/s. Perhaps the Samsung 980 Pro can be called the fastest consumer SSD in the M.2 format. It surpasses even the PlayStation 5 SSD. The performance of the new product reaches 1 million IOPS on read/write operations (4 KB QD32). The SSD uses V-NAND 3-bit MLC memory and 1 GB of DDR4 memory, which acts as a cache. The drive can withstand 600 full rewrite cycles. Samsung provides a five-year warranty.
The younger 980 Pro models received slightly lower read and write speeds. How much the new items will cost and when they will go on sale in Russia is not yet clear.
