Interestingly, the first beta version of iOS 11.2,

released on Monday, was completely without support for the iPhone X.

Because of this, users who installed it on their previous device were unable to sync with the backup on the iPhone X.

By default, it has iOS 11.0.1 installed.

If you plan on recovering from an iOS 11.1 backup on an iPhone X, you'll first need to update to iOS 11.1.

The same applies to iOS 11.2. Install the second beta version through the update mechanism in the settings before trying to deploy a backup from another device to it. To do this, you need a properly configured Apple Beta Software Program profile.
