A built-in Steam lock found in a Chinese router Xiaomi

A DTF user said that he found a built-in Steam lock in the Chinese Xiaomi router.

According to him,

I got an error after running the Steam installer"Steam must be online to update." The computer advised the man to check his network connection. The man opened the c:Program Files (x86)Steamlogsbootstrap_log.txt file and saw errors. He decided to wait a day, thinking that the server with the installer was simply not working.

However, the next day the problem did not disappear.I couldn't install Steam. As it turns out, the Xiaomi router has a problem with the network connection. And specifically with the address “http://client-download.steampowered.com”.

The man came to the conclusion that the site address with the Steam installer is physically blocked in the new router firmware. With the old firmware, he says, everything was installed without problems.
