Russia is preparing new measures to support the IT industry

The package included 88 measures across 12 market segments, it follows from the documents. We are talking about zeroing out the “Google tax”

benefits for the gaming industry, social networks and instant messengers, as well as permission to advertise alcohol in online cinemas. 

In addition, it is planned to release RussianIT companies from VAT on advertising services abroad, abolish exchange controls for the IT sector and conduct intergovernmental negotiations to facilitate access for Russian game developers to the Chinese market. 

Apart from the already announced releaseRussian IT companies from VAT on advertising services abroad, it is proposed to abolish currency controls for the IT sector and hold intergovernmental negotiations to facilitate the access of Russian game developers to the Chinese market. Among other measures, it is proposed to introduce a VAT deduction when licensing software (software) by foreign users (the so-called tax on Google), if the software is included in the domestic register.

The publication notes that the Federal Tax Service supported the deductionVAT on export of IT solutions. However, it opposed the abolition of foreign exchange controls for the IT sector, since this would violate the principles of foreign exchange regulation.
