Russia changed its mind to introduce fines for insulting police officers on the network

About a year ago, information appeared on the Internet that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to develop a bill

according to which Russians will be fined for insulting police officers online. Now information has appeared that it was decided to abandon this idea.

Thus, the department covered up the idea of developingthe corresponding bill, the TASS news agency writes, citing its own sources in law enforcement agencies. The further fate of the initiative, including its possible revival, is still unknown.

The agency also claims that the billmanaged to go through the stage of public discussion and anti-corruption expertise, but even despite this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to engage in its further development. Unfortunately, TASS sources do not specify the reasons for this decision.
