The idea is simple: when taking a photo, the camera takes several pictures at once, after which the AI selects and offers the user the best one - where no one grimaces, everyone has their eyes open and looks into the lens, and not around.
Apparently, AI Shutter for Xiaomi devices works the same way: when you press and hold the shutter button, the camera will take several pictures, rather than just one, to then select the best one.
For now, this function is only being tested, so we cannot say with complete confidence that it will appear in the final firmware.
