DFC Intelligence conducted market researchvideo games, finding out its scale. The report states that as of 2020, approximately 3.1 billion people are playing video games, which makes up 40% of the Earth's population.
By country, the most money is spent on games in:
- Asia - 1.42 billion players.
- Europe has 668 million players.
- Latin America has 383 million players.
- North America - 261 million players.
According to DFC Intelligence, half of gamersplay exclusively on smartphones. In addition, mobile platforms show the largest increase in audience. More than half of “mobile gamers” are located in Asia (54%), and Europe is in second place (17%).
Still, they bring the most profit“console players”, even if they make up only 8% of the audience of video game fans. There are 1.5 billion PC gamers, but researchers note that platform users also play on consoles and smartphones.
China has the most PC gamers - over300 million paying users. In second place is India with its army of approximately 147 million, and third place is shared by Ukraine, Russia and the CIS countries with an audience of over 100 million.
