Germany will not build a tank repair plant in Poland for Leopard 2 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Handelsblatt, Germanyabandoned the idea of ​​opening a tank repair plant in Poland. The reason has not yet been specified, but it is possible that the decision is due to the inflated cost of services.

Negotiations were conducted between Krauss-Maffei companiesWegmann (KMW), Rheinmetall and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ). The newspaper Der Spiegel wrote that the Polish company wants to receive more than €100,000 for tank diagnostics, while in Germany this service costs approximately €12,000.

The German Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the information about the withdrawal from the negotiations. The agency's latest statement to date said negotiations were ongoing.
