GLONASS was unable to achieve the accuracy declared 8 years ago

Let us recall that the global navigation satellite system (GLONASS) is one of four created in the world

system

As stated in the materials of the state corporationRoscosmos, location accuracy for civilian users has improved by 10 cm since 2012 (from 9.6 m to 9.5 m), although it should have improved by more than a meter - to 8.5 m. For now average consumer accuracy as of 2020 remains slightly better than 2012 levels - 9.5 meters versus 9.6 meters eight years ago.

It is noted that the highestthe accuracy of the GLONASS satellite signal was in the period from 30 to 31 January 2020: it was 0.93 m. In general, in 2020, six out of 28 GLONASS satellites worked with an accuracy of up to 0.38 meters: it is claimed that this is much more, than that of the entire system as a whole.

Not looking at this, according to the overall results GLONASS is noticeably inferior to its foreign competitors: the American GPS, the Chinese BeiDou and the European Galileo.
