The European Antitrust Commission has announced its decision to review the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

What is known

The deal has been approved.

European regulators have come to the conclusion that the merger of the two American giants will not harm the gaming industry.

EU experts noted that Microsoft prisonerslong-term contracts with cloud services and gaming companies demonstrate that the corporation has no plans to monopolize Activision Blizzard games. That is why European regulators see no reason to ban the deal.

For Phil Spencer's team, this isbig win. Now they have to convince the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of their case and try to challenge the decision of the British Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which recently refused to give consent to the deal.
