India will spend $3 billion to buy 31 SeaGuardian and SkyGuardian MQ-9B drones to monitor China and Pakistan

The Indian government has approved the purchase of more than three dozen MQ-9B unmanned aerial vehicles in two

modifications. The US State Department approved the potential deal two years ago.

India ready to spend $3 billion to buy 31drone MQ-9B in two versions. In both cases, we are talking about reconnaissance drones. Thus, the deal involves the order of 15 MQ-9B SeaGuardian and 16 MQ-9B SkyGuardian.

The American company General Atomics willsupply unmanned aerial vehicles in waves. At the first stage, India will receive 10 drones. They will be used for maritime surveillance as well as for aerial monitoring of the India-China India-Pakistan border.

A few days later the Prime Minister of IndiaNarendra Modi will pay an official visit to Washington. The purchase of the MQ-9B drones is expected to be officially announced during his meeting with US President Joe Biden.
