You can use the method with R-SIM ICCID. In fact, it’s just a SIM card, having installed it, you will unlock your iPhone and be able to use it with any SIM card without any problems.

R-SIM 13 works with the new iPhone XR and iPhone XS / XS Max thanks to an updated design. In addition, it now works better and faster, which is also good.

To unlock iPhone using R-SIM, you need to do the following:

  1. First you need to buy the latest version of R-SIM for your iPhone, which can be done here.
  2. After that, R-SIM must be inserted into the iPhone.
  3. Now open the Emergency Call screen and enter the following code: * 5005 * 7672 * 00 # on the dial screen. After that, press the call button.
  4. On the screen with the ICCID input, enter the following code: 8901-4104-2792-0258-7523 and click "Submit".
  5. Reboot your iPhone and configure iOS as usual.
  6. When done, remove the R-SIM from your iPhone and insert your carrier’s regular nano-SIM. Now you can use your activated iPhone as usual.

The method works on all models from iPhone 5 to iPhone XS Max with iOS 11 and iOS 12.

If you force reboot orrestore your iPhone via iTunes, everything will need to be redone, but it's better than nothing. It is also worth noting that in the future, Apple may fix the vulnerability with the iOS update, although the method has worked fine since iOS 11.
