The rollback procedure from firmware 10.2 to iOS 10.1.1 is pretty easy, since Apple is still signing iOS 10.2 firmware.

Important points

  • You can only go back to firmware 10.1.1, which is the latest version. You cannot revert to earlier previous versions because Apple stopped signing older iOS firmware files.
  • You can return to using firmware 10.1.1 only as long as Apple signs iOS 10.1.1 firmware files.
  • It is important to backup your iOS device using either iCloud services or iTunes, so that you can recover from a backup if something goes wrong.
  • Please note that the process includesdeleting all data from your device and then restoring it from a backup, so this may take some time depending on how much data needs to be restored and the speed of your Internet connection (if you are restoring from a backup from iCloud).
