How to jailbreak iOS 8.4 using Taig Jailbreak on Mac OS X using a virtual machine

The Taig team has released Taig Jailbreak for iOS 8.3 – iOS8.1.3 last week and then followed a little later

release of the Taig 2.2 tool.x Jailbreak for jailbreaking iOS 8.4. But these jailbreaking tools are only available for Windows. The Taig team has not said when they will release a Mac version of the jailbreak tool.

If you don’t want to wait and don’t have access to a computer with Windows, then we will help you. Here is a method on how to jailbreak iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch for IOS 8.4 using Taig on Mac OS X.

Windows virtual machine

We will use virtualization software to run Windows in a virtual machine from Parallels.

  • Download and install Parallels Desktop for Mac from this link. Parallels Desktop for Mac is paid, but you can use it for a 14-day period for free.
  • Download Windows 8.1 Enterprise or any other version of Windows, you can also enjoy a 90-day trial by downloading Windows 8.1 Enterprise for free from this link. The ISO file will download, this process may take some time depending on the speed of your internet connection.
  • Open Parallels, select from the menuFile> New, and click “Install Windows from DVD or ISO image”.
  • Parallels will begin the installation process.

You can also use VirtualBox to run Windows on a Mac by downloading the installation distribution kit from the manufacturer’s website.

Install iTunes 12.0.1

  • Once you have started Windows, download andinstall iTunes 12.0.1. Do not install the latest version of iTunes,  as many people have had problems during the jailbreak process with the newest version of iTunes.
    • iTunes 12.0.1 (32-bit)
    • iTunes 12.0.1 (64-bit)
