In a recent funding round, Nothing raised more than $96 million in funding.
What does it mean
The company received these funds before the releasenew smartphone Nothing Phone (2), which will be officially launched on July 11th. The money is intended to further expand the business, especially in the US market. Nothing Phone (1) is not officially sold in the US, but Nothing Phone (2) will debut in this market. Recently, Nothing co-founder Carl Pei said that Nothing Phone (1) has attracted a significant number of iPhone users, so entering the US market represents a big opportunity for Nothing Phone (2).
Leading the recent funding roundEuropean venture capital firm Highland Europe. Previous backers GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures and C Capital, as well as music group Swedish House Mafia, also contributed investments.
These investments bring the total amount raised by Nothing to $250 million.
The company reported that it has already sold 1.5 million devices. And this despite the fact that there are not so many gadgets in the range yet: the Nothing Phone smartphone (1) and the wireless headphones Ear 1, Ear 2 and Ear Stick.
