Telly has started giving away free 55-inch 4K TVs: what's the catch?

What does it mean

We are talking about 55-inch TVs with resolution4K. Why are they free? It's simple: these devices display ads that cannot be turned off. Unlike traditional models, Telly TVs consist of two parts. On the large screen you watch movies, TV series and shows, and on the small additional screen advertisements are broadcast.

Users must also sacrifice some of their privacy and consent to data collection. In the future they will be used by advertisers and television content creators.

The Telly system doesn't allow you to install any streaming apps, but it does come with Google TV. You can also use your TV with a Roku device, Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV.

The list of people wanting to get a free TV is growing. And the company at this time promises to deliver 500 free devices by the end of this year and “millions” in 2024.
