As noted in WHO, this requiresfocus on four priorities: preventing interventions, creating an environment in which people can “protect themselves,” maintaining essential health services, and protecting vulnerable populations.
WHO believes that during the pandemic, the coronavirus has notbecame more contagious. At the same time, the reproduction index (the average number of people infected from each sick person) exceeds two. This means that COVID-19 remains an epidemiological potential for spread. The organization added that much is already known about the infection, which can be used to effectively respond to the pandemic.
