McDonald's is testing a facial recognition system to monitor the temperature of guests

The first device that will measure the temperature of users of a fast food restaurant chain

installed in Moscow.

At the entrance to McDonald's on Mendeleevskaya inA solution from VisionLabs Thermo was installed in test mode, which is used to measure the temperature of all people entering the enterprise. This is done to ensure the safety of our guests and employees, which is our absolute priority.

Previously Telegram channel “Moscow News”published a photo with the interface of the VisionLabs system. The authors noted that McDonald’s on Mendeleevskaya probably has a facial recognition system for visitors. Later the press service confirmed this information.

The epidemiological control complex measurestemperature simultaneously for 40 people in the frame with a maximum measurement error of only 0.2 C °. Information about the measurements made is displayed on the screen to an authorized employee. When people with a high temperature are identified, the system sends a message to the service chat.

Thanks to this solution, the employee at the entrance canto quickly and contactlessly find out whether a person with a high temperature enters a restaurant, added McDonald's. This will help prevent infection with the new type of coronavirus.

Representatives of both companies emphasized that personal data of visitors within the framework of this technology is not collected or stored.
