Medvedev discussed this at a meeting oncreating a regime of equal rights in Internet governance. The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council said that a number of countries, primarily the United States of America, “seek to use the Internet as their patrimony, as a tool to achieve exclusively their goals. <…> To put it bluntly and simply: it doesn’t have to be this way.”
Medvedev is confident that the United States intends to continueact this way on the Internet. According to the deputy head of the Security Council, in such conditions, neither users, nor business, nor the state can be sure that their interests will be protected.
