The Ministry of Economy is preparing experimental projects: robotic hotels and cargo transportation by drones

Let us recall that the bill on “regulatory sandboxes” proposes to create “experimental legal

regimes”, on the basis of which new technologies will be introduced, which are not yet regulated by law. The State Duma adopted it in the third reading on July 22. 

The first projects that it plans to implement  Ministry of Economy:

  • robotic hotels,
  • cargo transportation by drones,
  • commercial use of self-driving vehicles, including taxis,
  • remote conclusion of contracts for communication services,
  • "Voice anti-fraud" service to protect subscribers from fraudsters,
  • service for small and micro-businesses for the selection of optimal areas of activity,
  • introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine and telemedicine technologies.

Smart hotel to be implementedone of the first, will automatically book visitors, check in, register and serve them using IoT, virtual reality, AI, machine learning and machine vision (remote face identification) technologies.

The Ministry of Economy told the publisher thatprojects were identified jointly with companies such as MTS, Yandex and Medsi, as well as the Foundation for Advanced Research and the Big Data Association (BDA). 

The department also plans to introduce AI into medicine,development of a service for small and micro-businesses for the selection of optimal areas of activity, as well as use technologies to protect subscribers from fraudsters.
