Moscow face recognition system will be launched in 10 more cities of Russia

The company refused the project developerreport in which cities the cameras will work. Of 10 cities, they named only one - Nizhny Novgorod. A unified video surveillance network with 3 thousand cameras will appear in the city, according to NtechLab. They will be installed at bus stops, public spaces and intercoms.

Some of them may be operational by the end of 2020 - these are more than 350 stops, each of which will have four cameras, of which two or three will have a face recognition function.

The system will be used to search for photos from the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as quarantine violators.The company hopes that in the future, cameras will be able to predict the congestion of public transport and optimize traffic flows.

However, it is not yet possible to deploy the system throughout the country, experts say: few regions are ready to spend their budgets. The cost of creating a video surveillance system in a large city is estimatedin 110 million rubles.
