In Ukraine, the power unit of a nuclear power plant suddenly turned off

At the Rivne nuclear power plant in Ukraine, the first power unit suddenly went offline. This

happened after automatic protection was triggered. The reasons for the incident are still unknown.

About this with reference to the press service of Energoatomwrites RIA Novosti. The outage occurred on December 12 at 02:43 Moscow time. It was associated with the activation of automatic protection upon shutdown of the turbines of the unit. Energoatom claims that no one violated the limits and conditions of safe operation.

Experts also stated that radiation,The fire safety and environmental conditions of the nuclear power plant are normal. Now the second power unit is operating there. Power units No. 3 and 4 are undergoing scheduled repairs.

It should be noted that the Rivne NPP is the first nuclear power plant in Ukraine with pressurized water reactors.
