Some Apple Watches turned green after updating to watchOS 9.5

Last week, Apple Watch owners received a new firmware version with build number watchOS 9.5.

However, after this, some of them had problems with their screen.

What does it mean

After an update on some watch displaysa strange green tint appeared. It is visible on the password entry screen, when accessing the Control Center, and when receiving notifications. Some users suggested that Apple intentionally added this shade. But that's unlikely as it looks out of place, with one user describing it as a "blurry LCD screen" rather than the clean black OLED he's used to seeing on his watches.

Judging by complaints on Reddit and MacRumors forums,The problem affected almost all models. It appears less often on Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra, more often on Apple Watch Series 8 and older devices.

It is not yet clear what exactly happened, but most likelyAll in all, it's a hardware bug. This has already happened with the iPhone, and then Apple solved the problem with an update. The manufacturer will likely “fix” the Apple Watch with the next watchOS updates.
