The Germans showed their answer to the Russian tank "Armata"

The German concern Rheinmetall showed its answer to the Russian T-14 Armata tank. This is not a whole armored vehicle, but

smoothbore 130 mm tank gun.

Today's main battle tanks of leading countriesNATO, particularly the M1 Abrams or Leclerc, use 120mm guns. However, experts say that a fundamentally new gun is needed. And one of the reasons for this is Russia’s development of the latest tanks, which have high protection.

Rheinmetall is developing just such a gun. The German concern finally showed a demonstration video of the gun.

As a base for a 130 mm gunused the British Challenger 2 tank. However, this does not mean that the weapon can only be used on it. It is believed that the gun can be installed on a promising new generation tank, which is being developed jointly by France and Germany.

It should be noted that an automatic loader was created for the 130-mm gun.
