An unsuccessful shot from a Soviet-made cannon was shown on video

During the fighting in Syria, the moment of an unsuccessful shot from a Soviet-made M-46 cannon was filmed.

The barrel was completely destroyed after the shot.

As Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes, militants from one of the illegal armed groups tried to use a 130-mm M-46 gun captured from government troops.

After the militants fire a shot, there was an explosion. Journalists assume that substandard ammunition was used. It is also possible that the M-46 was completely exhausted or that the low qualifications of the crew were to blame. It seems that it will not be possible to restore the weapon.

Recall that the 130-mm gun M-46 is a Sovieta towed corps artillery cannon from the 1950s. It was created by the design bureau of plant No. 172. In the 1950s, the cannon was the most long-range weapon of the Soviet army.
