No fruit other than apples: Apple sues Prepear over pear in logo

Members of the Super Healthy Kids team, creators of the Prepear app, are reporting a legal attack from Apple.

What
It happened

Apple opposed the registration applicationtrademark Prepear. Prepear is an app for planning your meal plan and creating a grocery list. And Apple doesn't like the app's pear logo. Yes, it is also depicted schematically, but it doesn’t have much in common with the famous apple. However, Apple intends to go to court to demand that the logo be changed.

The Prepear team has already created an electronic petition on Change.org and said:

“Before attacking us, Apple spoke out againstdozens of other trademark applications filed by small businesses with fruit logos. Many brand owners abandoned them or made changes. Most small businesses cannot afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars to fight Apple. A legal attack from one of the largest companies in the world is very frightening, even if we clearly did nothing wrong - we understand why most companies simply give in and change their logos."

There are only five people in the Prepear team;the costs have already gone thousands of dollars. Because of this, one employee had to be laid off. But the company intends to defend itself and retain its logo. At the time of publication, the petition had collected 14 thousand signatures.

What do you think about this: is the Prepear pear similar to the Apple apple?
